Through the Iron Bear project, we are committed to acting with transparency, respect, and listening to communities in order to strengthen dialogue and promote harmonious coexistence. Our objective is to co-design a sustainable mining project with the Indigenous communities.
In February 2025, Iron Bear filed a drilling permit application with the authorities of the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, which triggered the consultation process with the Indigenous groups concerned, namely the Innu Nation Matimekush-Lac John, the Naskapi Nation of Kawawachikamach, Innu Takuaikan Uashat mak Mani-utenam, Innu Nation of Labrador, and NunatuKavut Community Council. This process is still ongoing.

We also aim to contribute to regional economic development by creating jobs for the local population, supporting workforce training, and offering contracts to Indigenous and local businesses.
We place environmental protection at the heart of our actions. That s why we are committed to clean up old drilling platforms left by past exploration activities on our concessions. Furthermore, our project is based on a modern approach that will continuously leverage modern mining technologies including dry staking of mining residues. Dry stacking involves dewatering mine tailings to form a solid, stackable material, enhancing stability and reducing water risks compared to traditional tailings ponds. Finally, a key commitment for our project is to fill and revegetate the pit holes as mining progresses.
Currently in the preliminary development phase, we conduct various economic, technical, and environmental baseline studies in order to develop a responsible and sustainable project. We also conduct various information and consultation activities with communities of interest. The results of these efforts will be shared publicly when available.
